Fourth graders are learning about different types of native prairie plants in the Prairie Science Classes this fall. They are learning about the plants, their root systems and what uses them for food.
In this process they are also learning how to collect the seeds and keep them until the spring when they will use them for prairie restoration.
The plant they are collecting seed from is called Lead Plant.
